Halloween is coming quickly. Costumes can be worn in the afternoon only. There will be a costume parade in our gym on Thursday afternoon from approximately 1:15-1:45 with students stating one word descriptions of their costumes. For safety reasons, no masks or weapons allowed. Please do not bring any food or drinks for our afternoon Halloween related activities, we will be too busy to enjoy them.

This morning we practiced playing volleyball and found a new website to improve our French. We are all working hard on keeping our work organized. We are still learning new words. Ask me what I learned in French and how my day was.

Vista Heights is looking for a new school logo. Students shared their ideas in class today and know that they can continue to work on their ideas at home too. Parents, please feel free to add your input as well. All logo work is due to our student voice reps by October 28, 2013.
We also worked on 3 digit addition in Math today. A great web site for extra practice on this math concept is on Learn Alberta/Math/PlaceValue.

Everyone that was here looked really good for their pictures today. Many of our students were absent  celebrating Eid and will have to get their pictures taken in November.

Our pizza lunch was delicious and everybody got exactly what they ordered.
It is a long weekend so please don't forget that it is picture day for individuals on Tuesday. Class pictures and retakes will be taken at a later date in November.
No school on Monday. Have a safe and thankful weekend together.

Today we looked at the art of Henri Rousseau to inspire our own drawings of plants and vines.
Tomorrow is snack sale at recess.
We finished our day today talking about how and why plants are important to us.

October 1, 2013

Today the oldest brother or sister will be bringing home the Vista Heights October calendar.
There will be a snack sale on Thursday October 3rd. During recess students can purchase frozen
yogurt for 50 cents.
There will also be a Pizza Day next Friday October 11. Order forms go home today and are due October 8.
